The RICS Valuation Standards were first published in 2008, amended in September 2008, reprinted in March 2009, amended in July 2009, reprinted in April 2010 and the 7th Edition was published in April 2011. Compliance with these valuation standards and subsequent revisions is mandatory for RICS members and firms registered for regulation by RICS.

These standards set out procedural rules and guidance for members in the conduct of most types of valuation instructions. Their purpose is to ensure that clients receive objective advice, delivered in a professional manner that is consistent with internationally recognised standards. The standards set a framework for best practice in the execution and delivery of valuations for different purposes but do not instruct valuers how to value, nor do they discuss valuation methodology or techniques.

Flat Jacks Ltd valuations aim to comply with the Red Book Valuation Standards. Flat Jacks Ltd terms and conditions of engagement are based on Red Book recommended Standards of Practice.  An up to date electronic version is held on file in our office. Copies cannot be placed on line for copyright reasons, but can be purchased via www.isurv.com/redbook or viewed in our office.
